Measuring door dimensions correctly - your guide for the right measurements

8.4.2025

Accurate measurements are key to ensuring your door fits perfectly. Our easy-to-follow guide simplifies the process and highlights the most important aspects:

Threshold: For old buildings, the threshold sits directly on the floor, while in new constructions, it is positioned 1 cm below the floor surface level.

Vertical Section: Choose between two installation options – flush inside or within the reveal. Pay attention to reveal height and outer frame height for precise results.

Horizontal Section: Similar to the vertical section, you can opt for flush installation or reveal mounting. Key measurements include reveal width, outer frame width, and frame thickness.

Opening Direction: Select DIN L (left-hand opening) or DIN R (right-hand opening) based on your preferred door swing direction.

Pro Tip: The clear passage width is calculated by subtracting 2 cm from the reveal width – perfect for smooth movement!
