Doorista Solid Wood Doors
Solid wood doors are a timeless addition to any home, offering a perfect blend of beauty, strength, and functionality. Renowned for their durability and classic appeal, they enhance both the aesthetics and practicality of living spaces.
Exceptionally sturdy, solid wood doors can withstand heavy use and are far less prone to damage than hollow-core alternatives. With proper care, they provide decades of reliable performance, making them a valuable long-term investment. Their natural grain patterns and color variations bring warmth and character to interiors, adding unique charm to each home.
At Doorista, we primarily offer pine wood doors for their sustainability, attractive appearance, and practical benefits. Pine’s light tone and distinctive grain create a welcoming, rustic feel. Its rapid growth makes it an eco-friendly and renewable option, while its lightweight properties simplify handling and installation.
For homeowners seeking a different aesthetic, oak or larch wood doors are available as custom options. Their rich, classic appearance provides a striking alternative, though they come at a higher price.
Sourced from responsibly managed forests, our solid wood doors not only elevate your home but also reflect an environmentally conscious choice. We also guarantee with our partner “Grow My Tree” that additionally one tree is planted for every door sold.
House Door Measurement Guide
To determine the correct measurements for a front door, start by measuring the wall opening or structural width. Subtract 1-2 cm from each side and 1-2 cm from the height. This results in a total width reduction of 2-4 cm and a height reduction of 1-2 cm. In new constructions, the door is typically installed 1 cm below the interior floor level.
For a standard Doorista door, the ideal wall opening should be approximately 112-114 cm in width and 211-212 cm in height (or 210 cm from the finished floor level). If the opening is too large, you can use frame extensions or adjust the wall opening. If the opening is too small, it may need to be slightly enlarged.
If your measurements deviate from standard sizes, feel free to contact us to discuss the best options for your situation. For significant deviations, we also offer custom-made doors. Please email us your measurements, preferred model, and delivery address for a personalized offer.
Door Installation Tips
Accurate measurements and proper installation are essential for ensuring a door fits correctly, operates smoothly, and provides long-lasting performance.
While DIY installation may be an option for those with basic carpentry skills, professional installation is advised to guarantee a precise fit and prevent potential issues. Choosing the right professional—whether a carpenter, general contractor, door installation specialist, or experienced handyman—is essential for achieving a proper fit, smooth operation, and durable results.
Before installing a new door, ensure the opening is square and level. Clear the area by removing any debris, old nails, or screws, and inspect the studs and floor for any damage that may need repair. Although it is possible to install a new door over an old frame, this is generally not recommended. Removing the old frame provides a better fit and alignment for the new door, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
At which stage of the construction process should house doors be installed?
Front doors are typically installed before the façade and plastering work begins. However, it is also possible to use a temporary frame. In this approach, a temporary door is used during the construction phase, with the final door being installed once all other work has been completed.
Are Doorista doors sealed?
Yes, although the doors have a traditional appearance, they are newly produced and meet current soundproofing and thermal insulation standards. Our doors feature a door leaf thickness of 68mm, are reinforced and insulated in the infill area, have two sealing levels, and are equipped with insulating glass.
What are the insulation values of the doors?
The insulation values vary by model and range between <1.1 and <1.4.

How much maintenance does my Doorista door require?
Wood is a living material, and proper care significantly extends its lifespan. We use quality varnish and impregnations that preserve the natural surface texture and appearance of the wood. Depending on how exposed your door or window is to weather, the coating should be renewed regularly. You can purchase the varnish directly from us at any time.
